Ernst, 2000
Ernst is a curios little boy. He is five years old and lives
with his mother. Her scatter-brained attitude and Ernst’s
curiosity often cause them to get lost from each other. This
gives Ernst a lot of freedom and he takes charge when his mother’s
thoughts are elsewhere.
Ernst is good at making situations worse and getting caught
up in various problems. Luckily, all’s well that ends
well.
The
style
The visual style is free-hand drawings. The colors are mainly
black and white, while the background is in pale pastels.
The characters are always dressed in pale pastels.
The sound track is characterized by real
sound and atmosphere in order to support the cinematic universe.
The voices can be called 'fantasy language' which doesn’t
make sense. The abundant music in 'Ernst' supports the story
and helps to create the unique atmosphere around Ernst.
The series about Ernst is directed by
Alice de Champfleury.
The complete series has been released
on video by Sandrew Metronome and will be shown on DR TV.
